About Partners’ Higher Education Partnership Events
We at Partners strongly believe that when educational institutions collaborate across borders, we create better opportunities for students, greater visibility for the institutions and an improved labor force to meet the needs of today’s employers. Such collaboration ultimately leads to more enduring political, economic and cultural ties between nations. In a format unlike any other event, this series of annual events brings administrators and international program managers from across the Americas together for the singular purpose of building strong relationships and innovative partnerships for internationalization.
Through structured partnership building sessions, pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings and ample opportunity for networking and socializing, participants in HEP 2017 will have the opportunity to explore and select strategic partnerships with institutions in countries across the region. In addition, rich panel discussions and trainings on the common hurdles and creative solutions to challenges in partnership building will provide clear guidance on what works and what doesn’t.
HEP 2017 will highlight the theme of workforce development, with a special focus on building international partnerships between the technical/vocational institutions that serve and prepare tomorrow’s workforce:
· Community colleges
· Technical / vocational schools and institutes
· Government-supported workforce development agencies
· 4-year colleges and universities with strong focus on workforce development
This focus on workforce development is underlined by our partnership with the Instituto Estatal de Capacitación (IECA), the host of HEP 2017. With more than 114,000 trainees and offering over 6,000 courses, IECA is the lead government institution in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico for technical/vocational education and training. IECA’s main objective is to develop the knowledge and skills that people need in order to prosper in the labor market.
